What do you actually do? My work explained to my family

Newsletter - Sept 30th

A few weeks after my last newsletter, I’m sitting on the terrace at my parents’ house, by the pool. It’s 25°C, the sky is endlessly blue, and it’s my last day in Europe before returning to Montreal.

As I write these words, I reflect on these three weeks and wonder what to share with you—this journey has been so rich in many ways.

One of my intentions was to reconnect with my roots, to use this (long) trip as an opportunity to revisit memories from my life before Montreal. I traveled from Barcelona to Malaga, to Aix-en-Provence, and then Paris for my cousin’s wedding, where all of my father’s side of the family was present.

I enjoyed moving through different landscapes and atmospheres, from cities to countryside, rediscovering familiar places and discovering new ones, as well as indulging in the local food culture. I may often say I don’t miss France, but I must admit—the food and the ease of traveling are real advantages compared to Quebec.

As I reconnected with friends from my “former life” (back when I worked in web marketing) and with my family, the question naturally came up:

So, what do you actually do?

My profession

I am a personal and spiritual development guide (coach), specializing in the mind–body–emotions connection and in conscious intimacy. I work with groups, couples, and individuals.

Who are my clients, and why do they come to me?

Most of my clients are people for whom, on the surface, everything seems fine: they have professional success, comfortable income, friends… and yet, “something is missing.”

They are also people going through transitions: breakups, career changes, post-burnout, loss of creativity… searching to find balance again.

They are leaders, creators, people with responsibilities—seeking to (re)discover themselves, to deepen their self-awareness, to explore new territories, and to (re)find joy in life and a sense of connection—with themselves and with others.

Often, they’ve already tried more “traditional” avenues in therapy and feel like they’re going in circles.

What does a typical session look like?

This is probably the hardest question to answer… because I don’t really have a “typical session”—and that’s what I love about my work.

  • With some people, I guide them through meditations and they spend most of the session lying down.

  • With others, it’s primarily conversations.

  • With others still, we go into the body and explore through movement, touch, sound.

  • Some sessions are profoundly intimate—I’ve spent entire sessions simply holding a client in my arms while they cried.

I adapt to each person and each context. That adaptability is one of my greatest strengths, and part of what makes my approach unique.

And the group workshops?

Offered through Ecstatic Temple, these events create a container to explore, learn, discover, and connect with others going through similar processes. They can complement individual sessions, while offering the richness of a group experience.

My practices and tools are as varied as my interests—but they all share a common thread: the connection of body–mind–emotions, and transformation through being fully present with every part of oneself.

To explore with me is to embark on an inner journey—a guided dive into known and unknown spaces—and to deepen your connection to life, and to yourself.
